I'm using a VDO sender too, basically did as Osborni suggests, stick X=Y in for the calibration and read out the Voltage as you refill the tank from empty. I don't think only two data points will be enough to give you a decent display - I took a not of the Voltage every 2 litres and used those figur...

OK, not had any reoccurrence of the phantom logging since I reassigned the user functions being triggered by the four control buttons. I also reduced the amount of data being sent to the dash from the DL1. However, and it's a big however, instead of logging randomly, the dash is now intermittently l...

It does seem to have been the Dash2 locking up today, the phantom logging, not sure which "end" that's originating at. I think I'll try reducing the data are as you say, if that doesnt work, I'll take the serial lead out of the system and try again. It does all seem to have started after a...

Now it's started completely freezing the Dash display; did it once about 45 mins into a one hour drive this morning, then four or five times on the way back.

DL1 starting logging by itself!

I seem to have developed a haunted DL1 since adding a serial ecu interface (MBE type). Logging is normally controlled by one of the four control buttons on my Dash 2. Stopping/stating in this way seems to work fine. However, since the serial interface was added I'm frequently seeing the green loggin...

Sorry, it's been a while since I saw v6 of the software; I know in the current version though, you don't have the option to connect via the serial port for config changes. (Not that I've ever found anyway). It's all done via the flash card. I wonder if it might be some kind of miss match between new...

I had this when I first installed my Dash 2; it appeared the alternater wasn't seeing enough resistance from the Dash's LED, (it was expecting that of a regular bulb), & hence not charging properly. IIRC, I measured the resistance of the old charging light bulb and added an equivalent sized resi...

The manuals are now effectively the help files withinh the software. With an AP22 you'll need the version 6 download though, as V7 no longer supports it, I believe. It's down towards the bottom of the page here http://www.race-technology.com/download_area_2_7453.html

Dash 2 "Alarm LED"

I notice from the new on-line help files for the Dash 2 the ability for high/low level Alarms to now trigger an LED has been introduced. On top of the DASH2, the second LED from the left will illuminate, I assume this requires new firmware on the Dash 2? If so, what generation, and can you send me a...

I guess you've got two choices, provide a regulated power supply somehow, or try and get hold of a rheostat type fuel level sender. I seem to remember a thread on Blatchat while I was researching how to do this. IIRC they'd found a source of three wire rheostat type senders. Might be worth a search....

Found a handy calculator on one of the sites linked to from the wikipedia article m Thanks Dave! Yep, found that myself - after doing the calculations manually, still it was nice to double check the math. I've been using the stock VDO sensor/Dash 2 on the road for about a month now in this configur...
