You could drill and tap a ground screw into the adapter then use the Autometer one. Don't need much of a wire to ground it properly.

Otherwise, any combination of automotive or hardware store parts to get the right stand-off will work. I've used brass plumbers fittings before quite well.

You will need to know what the ohm range is for the sender. Wire up the pull up network with the appropriate resistor. Then feed in 1 liter (or 1/2 gallon - or so) at a time and take some data. If you know the sender's resistance range, you can approximate the amount with a linear extrapolation, but...

Speed is the 1st derivative of displacement. Acceleration is the 2nd derivative.

Differentiate displacement and you get speed.
Differentiate speed and you get acceleration.

That sort of noise is typical.

Experiment with rate of change and smoothing per Hustler. Step up the smoothing little by little until it looks OK. Rate of change, you should be able to do some basic math to figure out what is reasonable and what is not a reasonable about of rate change.

When I initially installed a Dash2 and a DL1, the Dash 2 would freeze up periodically. I reduced the frequency and channels that went to the Dash2 and the problem cleared up. I believe there isn't any error checking in the data stream so any errors that show up will fritz out the Dash2. Try reducing...

The dash buttons just pull to ground when you close them. So any system you make just needs to ground out the buttons.

Yes, 100 Ohm, but take care with how many sensors you drive off the internal power supply. You may want to add up the total amp draw if you are driving more than a few sensors. V = I*R or in the case of a pull up: V / R = I Opinion, but feeding a sensor into the DL1, will give you more control on ho...

I believe the RT sensors with harness are ready to install, no resistor is required.

I did a quick google search and there are lots of folks who have taken data on Bosch sensors. The trick is to find the right one. However, since they are resistance based sensors, hooking up a pull up network to the sensor will likely mess up the data the ECU and the R-T part receives. I'd suggest i...

Are you using a pull up/down network for your fuel level? You could have a short someplace.

Spark leads are pretty noisy.

Can you use the feed from an injector instead? (sorry, not know Porsche motors - injected or carbed?)

Since you are welding on a target. Just double or triple it and see what happens

Are you using hall effect sensors? If the iron passes the sensor too fast it might not read. My wheel speed sensors fail above ~110 mph or so. I simply need to install a bigger ferrous target for the sensor.

1) add up the current draw from all your sensors and make sure you don't exceed the DL1's capability. To avoid potentially damaging the expensive DL1, I use a linear voltage regulator, a couple of caps and a prototype board for about $10 USD. 2) Wires - I purchased a spool of 3 conductor ~20 gauge, ...

I used a LM1815 and a divider (though I can't remember the code).

Works on the bench, but haven't mounted it to the car yet.
