VIO POV files work fine for me - suspect a codec problem - try installing the K-Lite codec pack (google search) :?:

Well I can fudge mine to match through scaling differently - isn't this the same as building in a LAT_G dependent slip angle? The Data Logging Manual also describes several ways of fudging the data to do this - which is kind of a clue that the equation doesn't really work as described under track co...

Yes - the calculation in my post above is a more accurate version of this same equation STEERING_NEEDED = 15.8*atan(sign(VAR_0004)*2.301/VAR_0052)*(360/(2*3.142)) but what I found was significant deviation between STEERING_NEEDED and the actual STEERING_ANGLE. Much more than could be accounted for b...

I wondered about that - be really interested in what you find - please do update - I'd suggest including steering wheel angle in your data for comparison :idea:

OK - angle at wheels should equal:

angle at steering wheel / steering ratio

Is this what you found?

Yes:

STEERING_NEEDED = STEERING RATIO * ATAN(WHEELBASE/CORNER RADIUS)

The SIGN(VAR_0004) factor ensures -ve for LH turns and +ve for RH turns

The (360/2 * 3.142) factor converts from Radians to Degrees

Hey, I just did the exact same Celesco SP2 install onto the steering column of my Lotus Exige, with the same goal of comparing steering angle and required steering derived from corner radii. What i found was that at anything other than very low speeds, the apparent steering angle on track was way mo...

Gear Not Calculating Correctly

Similar problem I think - I used to get the GEAR variable in Analysis calculated correctly - now it stubbornly displays 2 regardless of the actual gear - my RPM and Speed (from GPS) traces look sensible - my Gear Ratios and Wheel Circumference under Vehicle Options are correct Somewhere amongst the ...

Perhaps a quick workaround would be to at least email (me please!) out the basic configuration file if people want to tinker with that.

Got it - thanks Dan :D

I was aware of the LED code but was hoping that somehow the GPS # would be logged as data - can't imagine why not since obviously the DL-1 box is aware of # of satellites

Maybe a dumb question, but how do you know how many satellites are locked? I know this is one of the GPS variables, but it doesn't seem to log anything on my DL-1
